4-4.5 stars. Sage Reese is the administrative assistant to Parker Andersen. She works long and demanding hours for him, going above and beyond the call of duty for her job and answering to Parker whenever he needs her for just about anything - picking up his dry cleaning, preparing paperwork for his presentations, answering the phones, coordinating meetings, even setting up his meals in his office. It's not a mutually symbiotic relationship. Parker doesn't give her anything in return except a paycheck, forget about a thank you or a smile, but Sage would still kiss his feet if he demanded her to.I liked Sage's down to earth manner and how she could stand up for herself when necessary. She's got many relatable qualities, but when it comes to Parker, she has some major blinders on. I was not dazzled by Parker. I could definitely see the appeal in him, but for me, he didn't hold a candle to Ryker, whom I wanted to see more of in this book and was speeding through the Parker pages just to get to the Ryker pages. While Parker is controlled, businesslike and impassive, Ryker is hot, sexy and arrogant. He doesn't mince words or try to hide anything. Maybe I see hints of Blane and Kade (from the Kathleen Turner series) in Parker and Ryker and that might bias my choice, but I actually prefer Blane over Parker in general. Regardless, Parker and Ryker are an interesting contrast to each other and Sage has parts of her that match both of them perfectly.
The suspense portion adds an element of intrigue. Because with Parker and Ryker at odds with one another (they have a history), it's hard to know who to believe since there's a personal agenda involved and Sage is in the middle of it, along with very dangerous people. I really have no idea how this is going to go, but I want to keep reading to find out, especially to get more details about how things went down between Parker and Ryker way back when. There's still time for me to come around to Parker since Sage can't seem to ignore how she feels about him.

Power Play Review
Wow! This book is without a doubt, one of the best books I've read this year. It has everything a great book needs, as far as I'm concerned, its action packed, suspense with a side of murder and a great romance that's super hot! Sage Reese is a beauty with chestnut hair and brown eyes. She's the Executive Administrative Assistant to Parker Anderson, a 35 year old Director of Investment Analyst at KLP Capitol Investment Bank in Chicago. She handles everything for her boss Parker and has been secretly in love with him since she started her job, the year before. Enter Detective Dean Ryker, a tall, blue eyed buff badass Bradley Cooper look a like, who has a not so great history with Parker Anderson and you have the start to a love triangle that Author Tiffany Snow is so very good at writing. This book has the Russian Mob, money laundering and murder to set a fantastic story that you won't be able to put down until the end, and will leave you anxiously awaiting the second installment in this trilogy. Ms Snow's use of one liners, such as when Ryker looks at Sage at one point and says "whaddya say, Miss Prim and Proper? Wanna take a walk on the wild side?". It catches your attention and keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to read what happens next. I know I can't wait till the next book, to see what happens with Sage, Parker and Ryker!
Once again, I have finished a novel written by Tiffany Snow and I find myself awestruck. Power Play, the first installment of the Risky Business Series was everything I expected from the talented Ms. Snow plus so much more. If I had to sum up book one of this series, it would be The Kathleen Turner Series on steroids. It's bigger and better than before with more drama, more romance, and more suspense – just more of everything that I came to love in the other series.
Instead of two brothers, we have two former best friends. I say former because they both use to be in love with the same woman – a woman who took her own life because she could not stand to come between the two friends. But what she didn't know is her death tore these two men apart more than ever. These two men are Ryker, a police detective, and Parker, an investment banker. Both men are swoon worthy, but I must admit that Ryker has stolen my heart. This man is the bad boy type that I find myself drawn to who is sex personified and such a smooth talker. Yep, my heart is with Ryker. I’m not sure how I feel about Parker yet. Yes, he is one sexy man, but I just don’t know how I feel about him yet – so I guess you can say that the jury is still out as far as Parker is concerned.
Then we have Sage Reese, Administrative Assistant to Parker. She has been so in love with Parker since day one of her employment and is obsessively dedicated to this man. She does everything possible to make Parker’s work life flow smoothly. It’s not until Parker comes under scrutiny due to a big investment deal involving some shady Russian characters that Ryker is on Sage’s radar, and suddenly her love for Parker is not so clear cut.
After all the drama and intensity that was never ending, book one ends and it appears that Sage’s decision on which man she is going to choose is pretty clear cut, but then in the final pages we learn that maybe, just maybe, one of the two men wants much, much more than we previously thought. So yes, we have a love triangle which may turn some readers off, but I must say I loved trying to guess who will end up with whom.
I absolutely loved this book! I finished this one in about a day because I just couldn't put it down. It kept me guessing throughout and I was biting my nails because of all the high stakes drama that took place. This well-crafted novel had a lot of suspense with just the right amount of romance. There are plenty of twists and turns that kept me engaged throughout. Tiffany Snow hit it out of the park with this one and I can’t wait for Playing Dirty to be released.
If you loved The Kathleen Turner Series or just love a good romantic suspenseful story with lots of high stakes drama and hot, steamy romance then you’re going to love this new series.
