Okay, I love books about musicians. I love romance. I love the characters in this book. So why did I only give it three stars? Because unfortunately I have reached my maximum and this book was the unlucky one to be the one I was reading when I reached my point of 'enough already'.Though I may be in the minority, I am getting so tired of books that don't end. I am a long time reader of romantic fiction and a librarian and I strongly dislike the new style of having to read more than one book (usually a trilogy) to get a story told. To me, it smacks of a simply monetary reward - why write a book when you can write three and get triple the price. I know that sounds really cynical but sometimes a trilogy makes sense but more often than not - really?!? The market is being deluged by trilogies and it is driving me crazy...And it is even worse when I don't know, when I start the book, that there will be more coming. That really sets me off.
I enjoyed this book but I am starting to look at titles that, even though they get good reviews, if they continue in another book not yet published I am not buying them. Sad to make that one of my criteria but there it is. I enjoy reading books that have great stories, great characters AND AN ENDING!!

is a much better title for this work. All I can say after reading this is -- What on Earth is the Author Thinking?!?! First you give us this "perfect" "forever" "soul deep" "a thousand lifetimes love" which happens instantly when Ember and Bo meet.... okaaayyy... I'll suspend disbelief until you prove it. But then, after about a week of bliss, at the first sign of trouble, Ember bails. The End. Oh hell no! I just spent hours reading this and get dumped at the end? It's not even for a good reason, except to drag the story on to... how many books dear author? How long are you going to string us along? I'm ticked off! And I'm so much in dislike with Ember at this point, I don't care if she gets a HEA. I'm done! I want my hours back!
While there are few spelling errors, the grammar threw me out of the story regularly. (ex into is one word, someone walks past, not passed) The author could benefit from a class or two, or get better beta readers.
If you're looking for an exercise in frustration, I recommend this... series apparently. If you're in the market for a nice, happy love story, give this one a pass. If you have a weak heart, don't even think about it!
Ten Days of Perfect is a smart and sexy read. I liked that there was a depth to what was going on beyond the relationship between Bo and Ember. There were just enough twists and turns that kept me guessing and glued to the page. Peeling the layers back on this story was so gratifying I only put the book down once ... to call for pizza.
The chemistry between Bo and Ember is smoldering without being overtly graphic. Don't get me wrong, I am all for a gratuitous sex scene but I think it takes tremendous talent to write the foreplay. The kind that sets your panties on fire before anyone even touches each other; that's what I am talking about. WHEW!
Ember is a magnificent protagonist; I fell hard for her (sorry, Bo!) She is a beautiful balance of strong yet vulnerable, stoic yet emotional. She is bold, passionate, independent and sarcastically witty. *swoon* She isn't perfect but her flaws made me more invested in her, not irritated by her.
Bo is about as swoon worthy as they come; he's hot and he is sensitive. He is also a musician and philanthropist so there is absolutely no hope in trying to escape his magnetism. Like Ember, he has issues he needs to work out but I got pretty mad at Bo for his imperfections. Was that fair? Maybe not, I have an unnatural attachment to Ember that biases me.
Adrian was a wild card for me; I wanted to hate this guy's guts. He completely screwed with Ember's head back in college and then reappeared to take another stab at it. At first, I thought that he was just a run of the mill manipulative egomaniac but I found myself feeling sorry for him. I don't think he is less of a manipulator but darn it, Andrea Randall made me like him anyway. Well done.
Overall The characters were my favorite part of the book; I loved how each of them revealed themselves in their own way and in their own time. They each set their own pace, taking care not to fall prey to predictability. I liked the lack of contrived formula character development that can plague the romance genre. It was obvious to me that the author took a lot of time and great care to write a great love story with a fresh character profile. I would recommend this book to someone who is looking for a great romance but is looking for something outside of the generic hero/ heroine role. It was a wonderful read and I am already anticipating Reckless Abandon (#2)!
