One of the most gripping books I have ever read. Although I have read lots of fiction in the past, I very rarely do so nowadays, but because I know the author, I decided to give it a shot, and boy was I in for a captivating read.

Anna Rae Aberle is an incredibly capable writer and her intelligence came through easily. She is able to competently weave complex chains of events and still keep the reader on-track. I have read many books and extended writings from really capable writers, and have in some cases found myself lost or tittering on losing comprehension, but not with this book.

I loved this book. I was shocked, laughed, and believed in the ending. I can't wait for the follow-up book (if there is one) because I loved the characters and want to see how the story plays out.
The heroine was very believable, and the story kept me captivated to the end. I'll look forward to this new author's next release.
I could not stop reading this book . I read it in one day and cried over the death of her beloved lover.
As a resident of Colorado and formerly the Bay Area I really love reading novels that remind me of places I have been. This book is very descriptive and you really feel you are in the main characters mind. It was one of those books that you don't want to put down (even though the clock says it is really LATE).

Can't wait to read more books from this author.
The book was a good concept of love, loss and relationships. The confusing part of this book was the timelines. Hard to see how much time lapsed as the book came to a quick conclusion.
It's hard to imagine this is Anna Rae's first novel. Anna Rae brings Alicia, the narrator and main character, to life. Alicia's emotions are raw and obvious to the reader, but perhaps not to herself. I wanted to cheer Alicia's successes, embrace and comfort her during agonizing times, and shake some sense into her as she imploded. In the end, I cheered her happiness. This novel is begging for a sequel. We need to know what happened as Alicia embarked on her new adventures. Some of the supporting characters are left begging to be brought back to life.

Although this is a story about a female, written by a female, men should not discount the strength and value of the lessons learned by Alicia. Bravo, Anna Rae.
I should preface this review by saying I know the author but I will try to be objective.
Ms Aberle has a writing style that is smart, true, emotional and full of life whether it's in her book, a blog or a simple email. You want to hear her words and you want to know the story. This story is about the roller coaster ride that we are on when we find true love and true friendships. It has a great romance, tragedy , tears and a final realization that although you've done stupid, hurtful things to those you love and to yourself, you can find yourself again and be whole.
